• This is a basic, not all-inclusive list of adoption requirements. This list gives answers to the most often asked questions. Visit or contact the SPCA for further details or to arrange for an adoption interview.
   
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• If potential adopter rents or lives at home, we must have approval from landlord or homeowner/s.
• We cannot adopt to College Students
• We do not adopt to Breeders, People on our "black list" or those looking for a Guard Dog or for any purpose other than as a companion animal.
  A potential adopter must fill out an Adoption Questionnaire and be interviewed in person by our staff. There are no exceptions.
• 
  Completing the Adoption Questionnaire does not automatically ensure that an adoption will be approved. The St. Lawrence Valley SPCA reserves the right to refuse any adoption application.
