Become An SPCA Volunteer
Love life? Love animals? Love making animals AND people AND yourself happy? Well, there is a very good possibility you can do just that by volunteering your time and/or services to the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA Shelter near Ogdensburg on the Canton - Ogdensburg road, about 1 mile from Ogdensburg.
Whether you can only spare a few minutes, an hour an afternoon or more on any day/s except days the Shelter is closed, the opportunity is yours for the asking.
Opportunities exist that range from walking and exercising dogs to socializing with cats, assist with fundraisers and humane education and many other things the Shelter may need assistance with. Dog walkers and cat socializing is always an area where there is a demand for volunteers; and it’s a one-on-one relationship with each animal you care for.
Once you have decided you would like to volunteer you can learn a little more about the process simply by stopping by the shelter during regular hours and talk to the staff, even observe some of the other volunteers in action.
If you would like to make a difference in the life of a Shelter animal, please stop in and fill out a Volunteer Data Sheet. You must be at least 18 years of age and love animals. Just a few hours a week can be a tremendous advantage to these loving animals, or as they are affectionately known, someone’s “Perfect Pet”!
